
About Shree Jaikishan Dayabhai Panchal

Jaikishan Dayabhai Panchal was born on 4th November 1929 in Vansda. Vansda was also known as Vansda State. Currently Vansda is located in Navsari District of Gujarat State. Vansda’s latitude and longitude coordinates are 20.7579° N, 73.3640° E. Jaikishan Panchal was a music composer and actor. He and his music director partner Shankar were popularly known as “S-J” Shankar Jaikishan). Shankar was born on 15th October 1922 at Hyderabad. Both Shankar-Jaikishan had given many super- dupers hit music and songs in the Indian Bollywood cinema. They have also composed music in many successful movies; due to this, they were given the prestigious Padmashri Award in 1069. S-J worked together during 1949-1979. Jaikishan died on 12th September 1971 in Bombay, Maharashtra, India. After his death, Shankar continued as a music director till 1987. Shankar passed away in 1987. Since the beginning of their career as “S-J”, the great music director’s duo has scored 550 film songs.
About JaiKishan Musical Foundation,Vansda
JMFV was formed and started by music lovers of Vansda. The first meeting of the JMFV was held on 5th April 2017. JMFV was formed with an objective to link people of Vansda and surrounding areas through the string of music. In addition to this, JMFV will also work to provide a platform to youths of Vansda so that they can show their music related art.The Foundation organizes various musical programs / events in and around Vansda. Till date, the Foundation has conducted many programs like (a) A special program on songs of Shankar-Jaikishan (b) Musical programs to commemorate special days like birthday and death anniversary of renowned musicians and singers like Jaikishan, Kishore kumar, Lataji, Rafi Saab and Mukesh. The foundation also conducts programs on Karaoke, live music programs, Gazala and Sugam sangeet programs. The foundation has also conducted programs in Surat and Vansda. The members and singers of the Foundation are mostly amateur artists and singing is their hobby.
